Young People's Mass
St. Peter Claver will hold a Young People’s Mass on April 11 and we are in need of young pianists, other instrumentalists, and singers. We would like maximum participation from our young people in all parts of the liturgy, including music. Young instrumentalists will play Mass parts and hymns; we will split up the duties so that no one has to play the entire Mass. We will supply pianists with music to practice at home, and Marya Hart will do individual coaching as needed. If you play another instrument – wind, string, or percussion – we will provide you with a simple part to play. If you are a singer and would like to participate in a pickup choir, we will rehearse and prepare for the Mass. If you are interested, please contact Marya Hart in person or via email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
In Case We Missed You
This past week, Gina Shaughnessy, our parish representative from Liturgical Publications, Inc., has been working on setting up the ads on the back of our bulletin for the coming year. We hope that you will consider advertising on the bulletin, since the revenue from the ads is what makes the bulletin possible at no cost to the parish. It’s a great way to get your name in front of parish families. Advertisements can be purchased for a business, family, or a sponsor ad can be purchased supporting community service organizations such as a battered women’s shelter, local food shelf, etc. Please give these ideas some thought. We need and appreciate your help! If you are interested, please call Gina at 952-356-6488 or email her at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . This is also a great opportunity to thank all of you who already support the church by advertising in the bulletin. We hope that the parish families will patronize your businesses, and thank you for your continued support with our bulletin.
New Parishioner Continental Breakfast
If you are recently a new member of St. Peter Claver Church or are interested in becoming a member, please join us for a continental breakfast with Fr. Kevin McDonough and Parish Council members on Sunday, March 21 at 9 a.m. in the church hall. Parish history, where we are headed, and what makes us ‘tick’ will all be covered during this brief gathering. Hope to see you there!
SPC Readers Club
The St. Peter Claver Book Club will read “Have a Little Faith” by Mitch Albom at our next gathering on March 18, 2010, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Merriam Park Library, Marshall and Fairview Streets, St. Paul. Discussion will be led by Ms. Louverne I. Williams, one of our club members. Hope to see you there!
